Final thoughts on my recent Daredevil: Black Armor mini-series. The deviant delights of Dwellings. Plotting the Kickstarter future for Axles Infernal #2.
Just finished the book, Dan. Your character voice for Matt is amazing; full of the stream of consciousness from his senses. It really made me think about his powers and how he barreled his way through the action. I love the inclusion of excerpts from Matthew as well. Overall, this book was a lot of fun, Dan. I’m glad I picked it up.
I never really gave his era in the “armor” a chance when I started pouring through DD around three years ago, but, I think, I’ll go back now and finish it. This seems like a really interesting time for Matt.
Thanks for diving in Hank, and sharing your impressions! I looked at this book as a) a gift to be able to go back and b) a chance to refine a lot of what I was trying to make happen with many years (many years, eek!) more experience. I think there's a lot of good stuff in the earlier era — but I'll admit to some rough patches too. Feel free to share your thoughts.
I always enjoyed losing myself in Matt's senses, and very glad to hear it came through for you as well.
Great to hear the Matthew excerpts worked for you…I was delighted to find the Ephesians "armor of god", which helped solidify a lot of themes for me. (I tried to get the title to be "armor of god" or "armor of grace" - but sales won the day with "black armor." Which, if that helped them sell the book — I love it! 🤪
Sweet! I feel the same...nice to hear your read it.
This was a great listen, Mr. Chichester. I just picked up the trade.
Thank you so much, Hank. (And please, Dan is fine!) Please let me know what you think!
